Manual

Keyboard

Skagway is built for the keyboard. ⌥ is an alternate action, ⇧ reveals or adds, and ⌃ sizes the player.

Views and navigation

  1. ⌘1 / ⌘2 — Grid view / List view.
  2. ← → ↑ ↓ — move focus through the grid or list.
  3. Home / End — jump to the first / last video.
  4. ⌘J — scroll the focused clip back into view.
  5. ⌘-click / ⇧-click — add clips to the collected set (⇧-click ranges from the last click).
  6. A — add or remove the focused clip from the collected set.
  7. ⌘A / ⇧⌘A — select all in the view / clear the collected set.
  8. Return — edit the focused video’s Title (display name). Esc — cancel editing or stop playback.
  9. ⌥⌘T — toggle the Inspector between Still and Filmstrip.

Search, filters, and Play All

  1. ⌘F — focus Search videos.
  2. ⇧⌘F — open / close Quick Filter.
  3. ⇧⌘V — open / close Advanced Filter.
  4. ⌥⌘C — clear filters.
  5. ⇧⌘P — Play All (current filtered view).
  6. ⇧⌘S — Surprise Me! (jump to a random video).
  7. ⇧⌘R — Shuffle the view order (toolbar).

Playback

  1. Space — play / pause the selected video.
  2. ⌥Space — play from the beginning (ignore the resume position).
  3. ⌥← / ⌥→ — skip back / forward 15 seconds.
  4. ⌥⌘B — bookmark the current position (while playing).
  5. ⌃⌘C / ⌃⌘W / ⌃⌘F — Compact / Windowed / Toggle Full Screen.
  6. Esc — stop playback (position is saved).
  7. ⌥⌘M — make a thumbnail from the current frame.
  8. ⌘↩ — play in the external player.

Files and metadata

  1. ⇧⌘O — Add Folder…
  2. ⌥⌘F — Show in Finder.
  3. ⌥⌘E / ⌥⌘I — Export / Import Metadata.
  4. ⌥⌘R — Remove from Library (file stays on disk).
  5. ⌘⌫ — Delete… (file moves to Trash).
  6. ⌘, — Settings…
